Microbiome is your second invisible body

Everybody knows about their heart, lungs or liver, but fewer people are aware of another ‘organ’ in their bodies – one that is just as important. The microbiome.

Imagine it as a ‘secret’ organ or an ‘invisible body’ that is hiding within every single one of us.

An invisible body made up of more than 10 trillion bacteria. Containing more than 10,000 different species of micro-organisms. Weighing hundreds of grams.

This body within the body is responsible for all kinds of hidden but necessary processes. It helps digest food, regulate the immune system, protect against disease and produce various vitamins.

But this wonderful second body is often neglected. Thrown off balance by unhealthy eating habits or improper oral care.

When people are brushing and gently taking care of their mouth, they are not just cleaning their teeth – they are taking care of their microbiome and their whole bodies.

Help them take better care of their mouth, and their healthy mouth takes better care of themselves.
